 The original name of Ta Prohm is Preah Vihear. Ta Prohm Temple is located on the small canal road to Chanthou, after about 1 km from Takeo Temple and northwest of Banteay Meanchey. Built in 1186 by the King Xavier Jayavarman VII to dedicate to his mother in the style of wisdom.



 The temple is surrounded by large trees growing on the temple. Architecture According to the inscriptions at the temple, the temple's size and function are confirmed. Ta Prohm has 3140 villages and 79365 people take care of the temple, including 18 cousins, 2740 officers, 2202 assistants and 615 dancers. Ta Prohm is built of sandstone and laterite with 5 floors and has 39 temples. The outer wall of the temple is 700 ā 1000 m. North of the gopura, east of the outer wall, there is a dance hall. The temple is also considered a scientific university under the control of Queen Devi.
